maybe in actual gw2 the blocking ability of your claws could be set by your rank in whatever your talons power is...so at rank 50, you could block all attacks using only your talons...i know you could just wear bracers to block more attacks, but these talons are supposed to be becoming supernaturally strong...it would be silly if they couldn't block some gimp with a spear.
Good point - and easily implemented. In fact some weapons already do something similar (for example if you've got polearms skill of 25+ then you're able to block double-weapon attacks - eg paired swords).
