Here are my thoughts on expanding the MSP support.

* MSP config option for changing the sound files path to a GW2 directory inside the default sounds directory. This would be useful for people who use MSP on multiple muds, as it would allow them to keep the sound files separated from those of other muds.

* MSP config option for when you change fighting style. You would also need to download the styles soundpack (25 sound files, one for each style).

* MSP config option for using sound-oriented socials (burp, cackle, cheer, chortle, chuckle, clap, cough, cry, gasp, giggle, growl, grumble, grunt, laugh, moan, ponder, roar, scream, sigh, snap, snarl, snicker, sniff, snort, whistle). Off by default, so newbies don't get subjected to burping contests in Glyphstone village. Some of these may need to be gender specific.

* MSP config option for receiving tells (including replies). This would require one sound file.

* MSP config option for receiving mail. This would require one sound file.

* More equipment sounds - draw/sheathe different weapons, wearing and removing clothing, etc.

* Generic combat sounds, for techs that don't supply explicit ones. These could be based on the 8 damage types, with variants for miss, hit and crit (total of 24 sound files). Could later be expanded to include variant damage messages when striking creatures made from wood, metal, etc. But this might get excessive...

* Terrain sounds could perhaps be redone as !!MUSIC().

Been gone for a while. Life beckons.

I guess I'm not in the know, but whats an MSP? Mud sound pack or something? Would I need a specific client or would it work with gmud?

Anyways, sound is something I really want for gw. If I had the time I would make my own soundpack. Regardless heres a suggestion.

Auto-responses based on mood - Say you had an option to set your mood. Like happy, sad, playful, etc. Then whenever a player targets you or looks at you, they hear a response like "hello" for happy or "Finally, someone to kill, I thought I'd be bored." for playful and so on. I got this idea from warcraft. When you click a character they say something ("STOP POKING ME!", "Don't you have something better to do?"). I think it would be pretty neat. Obviously, it should be on a timer so you don't spam hello. Maybe once per minute. Also, it should probably be disabled when you have an adrenaline rush.

I think it would add a little more depth and variation to players.

MUD Sound Protocol - it's supported by a few clients, but not GMud. You could download MUSHClient though.
